Karen Lasker-Goldberg, signature style involves combining interesting materials and personally designing furniture to translate each client’s dream into a reality. Karen’s interest in three-dimensional expression goes back to her days as a sculptor; because of that artistic background and personal understanding of different mediums, she never hesitates to bring interesting materials into her clients’ homes. Among other combinations, she has united ultra suede with steel band chairs and designed window treatments with silk, marble, and a steel rod. Having studied at The Art Institute of Chicago, Karen holds master’s degrees in fine art and interior architecture. Since Karen is both an artist and a knowledgeable draftswoman, clients view her expanse of capabilities to be quite beneficial. She is well-versed in a full spectrum of styles and often combines the elegance of contemporary lines with antique, primitive, or artisan crafted objects. Karen’s diverse portfolio includes everything from a modern loft that required intricate space planning, to a historical row house with English traditional charm and an impressive 14,000-square-foot Colorado residence, which she designed from architectural inception through interior design.
